Iceland is 21st most-innovative economy according to the Global Innovation Index (GII) 2020. Iceland drops one place from last year after rising three places on the GII 2019.


The first six months of the year saw a significant increase in the number of trademark registrations in Iceland according to new ISIPO statistics.


Published today, the ISIPO‘s Annual Report 2019 reviews an eventful year for our office. A major milestone in our 29-year history was our name change in July when we changed our name from the Icelandic Patent Office to the Icelandic Intellectual Property Office (ISIPO).


Iceland’s trademark system will undergo considerable changes with a new law that will enter into force on 1 September 2020.
