Sif new Head of Division and Sandra Chief Legal Officer

Sif Steingrímsdóttir has been appointed Head of the Intellectual Property and Administration Department at the ISIPO. She is responsible for the management and day-to-day operations of the division, which handles the substantive processing of applications and other matters relating to the registration of trademarks, patents and designs.
Sif has worked as a lawyer at the ISIPO since 2018. Prior to that, she worked in legal practice. Sif graduated with a Master's degree in law from Reykjavík University in 2014 and was admitted to the bar for district courts the same year. She completed a programme in project management at the University of Iceland in 2025 and holds an IPMA Level D certification in project management.
Sandra Theódóra Árnadóttir has additionally temporary taken up the position of Chief Legal Officer of the ISIPO.
Sandra has worked as a lawyer at the Icelandic Intellectual Property Office since 2018. From 2022 to 2024 she was on secondment at the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) in Alicante, Spain. Prior to that, she worked at the Directorate of Labour. Sandra completed a Master's degree in law from Reykjavík University in 2013.
