Implementation of CP13 and CP15 Projects from EUIPO

Euipo

24. March 2026International Cooperation

The Icelandic Intellectual Property Office (ISIPO) and the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) have jointly developed two new implementation documents in connection with the CP projects: CP13, which concerns the assessment of bad faith in trademark applications, and CP15, which addresses the comparison of goods and services.

The implementation documents are based on the projects as adopted within the EUIPO cooperation framework, the European Union Intellectual Property Network (EUIPN), but have been adapted to Icelandic legislation and case law. The documents provide useful guidance on the criteria applied in Iceland regarding bad faith and the comparison of goods and services, as well as how these align with practice across Europe.

All implemented CP projects can be found here.
