Intellectual property (IP) plays a crucial role in turning innovative ideas into successful technology companies. This online training provides small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), such as deep tech startups and university spin-offs, with practical knowledge on how to leverage IP for business growth and informed decisions. Participants will learn how to identify and manage IP assets effectively to ensure they support their business objectives as part of an IP strategy.

Live online sessions

IP strategy day: 25 June 2026, 14.00-17.00 hrs
CEST IP management day: 26 June 2026, 09.00-12.00 hrs CEST

This training equips participants with the knowledge and practical skills needed to address IP-related matters during the early stages of business development and to make informed strategic decisions. It highlights the critical role of IP in creating, protecting, and scaling deep tech ventures.

The programme consists of two dedicated sessions. The first session focuses on IP strategy, helping participants understand how IP can support business objectives, competitive positioning, investment readiness, and long-term value creation. The second session focuses on IP management topics, covering the practical aspects of identifying, protecting, managing, and exploiting IP assets throughout the innovation journey.

Through interactive discussions, practical case studies, and access to up-to-date resources, participants will gain the confidence to navigate the IP landscape and use intellectual property as a driver of business growth.

The training is primarily aimed at beneficiaries of funding from the European Innovation Council (EIC), but is also open to a wider audience of entrepreneurs, innovators, and technology-driven businesses.

The seminar combines six hours of online instruction with two hours of self-paced learning and is organised in cooperation with the EIC and supported by the European IP Helpdesk.
